How to simplify writing a "Thank You Letter"
by Megiean

Sitting down and saying thank you to those who gave you gifts or showed up to your wedding can be difficult and tedious. You don't need to make them extensive and time consuming. You can even buy regular stationary to make them look simple as well. Although if you want to match your invitations that is a good idea too.

First, find the list of addresses from your invitations to address your thank yous.

To make the process as simple as possible you'll want to have a notebook and pen with you while you open your gifts. That way each gift you get you can write down what it is and who it is from. Then, when your ready to say thanks you know exactly what you got and from whom.

Finally, make it a couple activity. Both of you discuss what you want to say on each thank you, one of you writes and the other addresses the envelope. You can use the computer to add the addresses to the envelope, but handwriting the thank yous makes it a lot more personal. If that doesn't work for you, I would suggest breaking it up. Do a certain amount one day and then do some more the next day.

As long as you mail them out on the same day it shouldn't matter how long you take to write them. Most wedding etiquette books say you have up to a year to send a thank you.
